Horrible experience with this group. Originally my wife scheduled a pregnancy confirmation with them but ended up losing the baby, since she was not an established patient they advised her to go to the er which we did. After three visits to the ER and confirmation that she in fact was no longer pregnant they refused to schedule her an appointment until she was able to provide all her records. They told her if she was a new patient and never had told them she was pregnant she could schedule an appointment without having to provide that. We waited three days to hear back from them only for them to tell us without more ER follow up and more records they would not schedule us an appointment. Honestly go somewhere else.

Dr. Lopez and the entire staff at Hibiscus that I interacted with was wonderful! This was my first time going to an OB and I felt truly cared for. They go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. They are kind, honest, and listen to you as a patient. I can’t say enough good things!

I’ve been with hibiscus since middle school and I’ve had great experiences with them. Now that I’m pregnant, it’s been anything but. I had a miscarriage last year and it took me over a year to get pregnant again, and when I did, I got very anxious about having this pregnancy work out. I went in for an early ultrasound and they told me I’m having a miscarriage and prescribed the abortion pills immediately. For a second confirmation, they wanted to do a 48 hour apart chg level test. They told me if my levels go up, it’s a continued pregnancy, but if it goes down, it’s a failed pregnancy. My levels went up and I was so excited so I called the office to tell them the great news, and they apologize confirming that I am having a miscarriage because “they should’ve doubled.” So already horrible miscommunication on their end. I was now confirmed twice that I was having a miscarriage and they continued to encourage the pills. I went back a week and a half later for a follow up ultrasound and the tech nonchalantly goes “and there’s the heartbeat.” Prints the paper out and says congrats and we go into the next room… the emotional rollercoaster I was put through, and the horror of knowing I almost terminated a perfect pregnancy was enough for me to want to change providers. But I stuck it out because I’ve been with them so long. They tell me at 10 weeks I can do the NIPT blood test (and that results will take weeks) so I called and said that I’m ten weeks today and they told me to come in for the blood test AND the glucose test. I’m hesitant for the glucose test because everyone I know got it after 25 weeks, and I read online that it shouldn’t be done this early. Well, they call me back 10 minutes later and say “I didn’t realize you were only 10 weeks today so it’ll be too early and not show anything on the results.” I started off the conversation by telling her I’m 10 weeks TODAY, and she has my chart in front of her that says how far along I am… so they tell me to come in later on in the week. At this point I’m so frustrated with everything so I call my friend who just had a baby and she explained that she got her NIPT test at 9 weeks and got results 3 days later… this office seems too all over the place and don’t seem like they know what they’re talking about. I’m now in the process of changing providers because this pregnancy has been so stressful because of them. I also thought it I’d be seeing the same provider I’ve been seeing for years, and it was a random person each time. I’m very disappointed in this office and I see I’m not the only one. I hate that I’m even writing this review.

Where do I even start. This place is horrible. I wish I would’ve tried harder to find a different provider. I had a beautifully flawless pregnancy and had very specific plans and for how I wanted to labor & deliver. I loved the midwife concept but they are not what I thought. Every damn appointment I felt like just a number. Someone knew every time. I had a few miscarriages before my rainbow baby came and needless to say I was easily terrified about losing my daughter that took me about 6 years to get. They forced me into an Induction telling me “you didn’t work this hard just to lose her now” and things continued to get worse from there. I nearly bleed out bc the midwife was incompetent. Please don’t go here. It’s not worth your life.

I've been going to Hibiscus OB/GYN for 20+ years now. I started with Dr. Wagaman until she retired and have happily been with MSN, ARNP, CNM, Anette Sandoval. She is so great and stays on top of her medical knowledge. I highly recommend this place and Anette!

I love this practice! Every one there is so nice and helpful. I'm usually an anxious person, and all the staff put me right at ease and are so pleasant. Really pleased with the whole experience and will continue to go here for annual visits and the occasional sick visit.

I do not recommend any first time mother to this practice. My entire experience has been horrible and extremely stressful for no reason. I have since transferred to a new doctor who is absolutely wonderful. High level review: terrible communication, zero connection to or concern for patients, incompetent practitioners, unprofessional behavior, and shady business practices resulting in extremely high bills to patients (potentially illegal - have started to look into attorney) Detailed review: My fiancé and I were so excited to go to our first ultrasound appointment and see our little baby! We were rushed through it and thrown wrinkled pictures with zero empathy or personal touch. That should have been my first red flag. Then we start meeting with one of MANY practitioners which is a very confusing and ineffective process. The lady asks for my medical records from my gynecologist, Dr. Sargent of Reflections and goes on to speak poorly of that office. Additionally, they recommended against a doula and told me to “save the $500 and get a push present”. Wow. Great values and way to conduct good, objective business. Throughout the first few visits I was given inaccurate information that created huge stress in my pregnancy for absolutely zero reason except for incompetence and poor business practices. First, I was quoted prices of additional testing (genetic testing and such) that ended up being veryyyyyyy different than what I was actually charged. One bill was supposed to be $250 and it actually was $600. The second bill was supposed to be $250 and the company that Hibiscus partners with sent me a bill for $13,000. Yes, you read that right. My insurance got it down to $1,200. I was still shocked of course so call Hibiscus and they tell me that I need to call the company and negotiate the price bc that’s part of “their deal”. They never told me that. I don’t understand why that would ever be the process, but I did and got it down. This very test caused a lot more stress than it did benefit. At 10 weeks, the doctor read the results of this test and told us we were having a girl. Awesome! We started planning the room, picked out a name, and of course starting buying things for our baby girl. At 20 weeks (yes over 2 months later!), we were in an ultrasound and they were asking us a lot of questions about the gender and who told us the gender. We pulled up the video we took of the hibiscus professional telling us we were having a girl and they then informed us that the doctor read the results wrong and that we were in fact having a boy. Wow, what a mindset shift and a waste of a lot of time and money! Still, not the end of the world. We are resilient, rational people and can handle this. Of course, we asked for a refund for the $250 test (originally billed at $13,000) since hibiscus read it wrong. They said, “Absolutely! Just send us the bill and we’ll take care of it.” It’s been almost 5 months of me calling them to figure out this bill as the company continues to call me every day hoping to collect their money. Hibiscus refuses to answer or return calls or emails. They continue to tell me they are “looking into it”. I’ve had to go over the situation with different people in the office numerous times and have yet to receive any actual help. Finally, at our 30 week appointment they still didn’t know my name or the sex of the baby and we were still meeting new doctors each visit with the possibility of 12 doctors being the ones to deliver us. If you are looking to be treated like a number and get in and get out with zero consultation and medical help, then hibiscus may be for you. I wanted a real doctor that could help me and guide me through my pregnancy journey without lies and deceit and additional financial stress…hibiscus was not for me.

We had Roxanna deliver our first miracle rainbow baby boy in 2019 and it was an amazing birth story. When we learned we were expecting again we were overjoyed that our amazing midwife was still at Hibiscus Women’s Center and on August 2, 2023 we were blessed again to have Roxanna with us during the birth of our other sweet baby boy. Although our birth story was a bit different this time around it was comforting to know Roxanna was there by our side as a midwife, a friend, and a true leader. We do thank all the midwives at Hibiscus Women’s Center for all they do. Each one specifically talented, friendly, and helpful.
